Summary:

In support of the Enhancing Regional Mobility Passsenger Count on Drive.ai Service
priority, the City began an autonomous vehicle (AV) 1,000
program with three goals in mind: to learn about
the future of mobility and adequately prepare for it,

Phase II of the City’s AV program began in FY 2018
with the execution of a contract with Drive.ai to 200
provide on‐street autonomous shuttle service in the 221
Entertainment District. Service will start in October

2018 and will run through October 2019. Cost of the
service is $434,952, with $343,000 coming from a 1st Qtr 2nd Qtr 3rd Qtr 4th Qtr

CMAQ grant and the remainder coming from the
City.

Update:
Drive.ai was purchased by Apple and service was
discontinued in Arlington as of May 31, 2019.
