Summary:
This item supports the Council's "Enhancing Regional Via Ridership
Mobility" priority by improving access between Arlington 60,000
and the rest of the North Texas region. The Via on‐
demand rideshare service was launched on December 11, 50,000
2017 to offer an additional mobility option for residents, 40,000
employees and visitors.

The app‐based rideshare service uses a fleet of fifteen 6‐
passenger vehicles, a smart phone application and 20,000
dynamic routing to provide efficient on‐demand trips and 10,000
access to a wide range of destinations. Personal vehicles
are also used when necessary to meet demand. The turn‐ 0
key operation is being operated and maintained by Via 1st Qtr 2nd Qtr 3rd Qtr 4th Qtr
through an annual contract based on City Council
approval.

The service area is roughly bounded by Lamar Blvd on the

destinations such as UTA, Downtown, the hospital district,
the entertainment venues, the Parks Mall, Arlington 20,000

Demand for the Via rideshare service continues to grow,

with 53,846 rides given in the 4 quarter and 24,422 total 5,000
accounts as of the end of the quarter. At the same time, 0
average wait times remain at 12 minutes and customer 1st Qtr 2nd Qtr 3rd Qtr 4th Qtr
satisfaction remains at 97%.
