All new and existing hotels shall be classified and Adoption
based on the hotel’s chain scale rating. Hotels
without chain scale ratings are classified as
Independent Hotels.
Existing hotels shall retain their nonconforming or
conforming status post effective date. A hotel
with a chain scale rating after June 1, 2019, which
loses brand affiliation, shall be re‐classified as a
legally nonconforming Independent Hotel.
Existing hotels may be demolished and rebuilt to
the same or higher chain scale rating. Special
rules apply in the EDO.
The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended Based on HB2439, City amended the UDC once again in
approval of the amendments on April 17, 2019. The City September 2019, this included a few more changes to the
