Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)/Records
Management System (RMS) Cloud Migration
Transformation and Redevelopment
One-Time $18,120
General Fund Police
Recurring $53,067
The police department is seeking approval to enter into an agreement with our current police and fire
Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)/Records Management System (RMS) provider, Central Square Technologies,
for a migration to the could server capabilities.
Transitioning from our current hybrid model, where we maintain the hardware while Central Square manages
the software, to a fully hosted service eliminates the operational "gray areas" that cause confusion during
system failures. Migration shifts full responsibility for infrastructure maintenance, automated patching,
backups, and cybersecurity (Identity and Access Management (IAM) and threat detection) directly to Central
Square. This not only bolsters the reliability of our critical RMS/CAD systems to minimize downtime but also
unlocks expanded API capabilities, streamlining future integrations with other Police and Fire platforms.
Failing to fund this request puts the city in a position of having to replace the current servers and losing
additional capabilities provided by the cloud migration.
This request is a priority; however, city staff were unable to fund it this year. City staff are continuing to
maintain our existing servers, and this request will likely be included in the FY 2027-2028 proposed budget.
