General Fund Police Recurring $75,000
The Police Department is seeking funding to contribute to the purchase of three new SWAT vehicles for the
North East Tarrant County Area SWAT Team (NETCAST), including an armored personnel carrier, a
equipment truck and a tactical intelligence van. The proposed agreement indicates Grapevine Police
Department will cover the initial purchase and Hurst, Euless and Bedford will reimburse at an estimated
$75,000 a year for 4 years totaling $300,000.
These vehicles are necessary to support safe and effective response to high-risk incidents, including
barricaded subjects, hostage situations, high-risk warrant service, active threat events, and other critical
incidents. Each vehicle serves a distinct operational purpose: the armored vehicle provides protected
movement and rescue capability, the equipment truck supports transport and deployment of specialized
tactical gear, and the tactical intelligence van provides mobile command, intelligence, and communications
support. Approval of this request will enhance officer safety, improve operational readiness, reduce reliance on
unsuitable vehicle platforms, and strengthen the Departments ability to manage complex incidents efficiently
and safely. These assets will also support mutual aid and regional response obligations.
The proposed agreement has not been finalized by NETCAST, therefore funding this request is not anticipated
in the upcoming fiscal year.
