The proposed investment is necessary to improve
our operational resiliency by enhancing our
security, availability, and confidentiality.
The new firewalls will provide features that are
currently unavailable, and will improve our
security posture for our telework environment
through:
Virtual Private Network (VPN) –Increase
telework, and remote users secured
access to City’s technology resources
through the firewall’s capabilities
Advance Threat Protection – minimize
and mitigate malicious files traversing the
network
Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) –
detect and prevent unauthorized access
to the network that may exploit
vulnerabilities
Update:
The firewalls have been installed. The project
team is working with the vendor to document the
technical architecture and finalize several
configuration items prior to project closure.
