            COUNCIL GOAL 5:


            POSITIVE CITY IMAGE




            Strive to maintain a positive City image and
            reputation for being a great community.






            Objectives:

                 Continue and enhance communication flow with citizens

                 Focus on and recognize city successes

                 Promote and initiate environmentally responsible programs

                 Increase regional branding and marketing activities that promote our positive city image

                 Expand  efforts  to  provide  a  welcoming  experience  and  connect  new  and  existing
                  residents to the NRH values.

            Accomplishments:

                 North Richland Hills Hometown area was named one of six Great Places in Texas by the
                  American  Planning  Association.  The  area  was  recognized  for  its  design,  mix  of  uses,
                  public art, character and community activities.

                 The Police Department held its first ever Facebook Live Beat Meetings. These meetings
                  let the public ask questions and learn about safety and crime prevention in an informal,
                  online forum.

                 The  Communications  Department  expanded  its  use  of  NextDoor  to  keep  residents
                  informed about what is happening in the city.

                 The Fire Department launched Facebook and Twitter pages to provide information to the
                  community.

                 The city dedicated a Public Safety Memorial at City Hall and honored Fire Lt. John Mark
                  Shelton who died while on duty in 1980.
