INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES



           Mission Statement

           The mission of the IT Services department is to provide quality technology-based services in a
           cost effective manner to facilitate the city's vision as it applies to providing quality services to all
           members of the community.


           Accomplishments of FY2018

               ✓  Upgraded and Consolidated the telecommunications system, providing enhanced
                  telephony features and reducing cost by $2000 per month
               ✓  Upgrade portion of infrastructure in support of telecom system upgrade and more
                  effective network manageability
               ✓  Began Internet live streaming of City Council meetings.
               ✓  Replaced all Public and Staff Computers at the library
               ✓  Replaced all staff computer at Public Works
               ✓  Replaced all public computers at Senior Center
               ✓  Placed HCTV UAS (drone) in service to support Police, Fire and Public Works
               ✓  Upgraded vehicle laptops for First Responders
               ✓  Integrated existing Geo-Spatial-Data with MyGov to support implementing this new
                  system
               ✓  Installed additional ISP portal to increase Internet bandwidth
               ✓  Optimized City web site significantly reducing page load time
               ✓  Configured and managed new signage for Fuel City and Recreation Center
               ✓  Replaced camera security system, installed new server and client, improving quality of
                  video and storage capacity
               ✓  Provided technical support for the Birdville Historical Society

           Objectives for FY 2019

               ➢  Continue to bring the PC Inventory to “Under Warranty” Status improve productivity and
                  reduce support calls
               ➢  Continue infrastructure and server upgrade to current standards
               ➢  Create a reliable redundant network connection from Fire Station 2, Senior Center, Parks
                  Office, Fire Station 3, Public Works and City Library to the City network
               ➢  Research options for connecting all City facilities to the network using fiber
               ➢  COA license for UAS (drone) use by HCTV
