BUILDING MAINTENANCE
Mission Statement
Building Maintenance Division ensures a safe and comfortable working environment for all
employees in City facilities as well as to provide prompt response, quality service and the efficient
resolution of maintenance problems.
Accomplishments of FY2018
✓ Assisted in the design and installation of the Veterans Memorial
✓ Installed all the security lighting and wiring for the Veterans Memorial
✓ Ran all the water and electrical from the source and installed new cameras to the Veterans
Memorial
✓ Finished install grass at Veterans Memorial
✓ Installed new security lighting footers for Wall Street E
✓ Assisted Street Department with Signals at Haltom Road & San Jacinto and at Belknap &
Highland Cutoff
✓ Continued replacing T12 with T8 fluorescent lights at all facilities
✓ Finished switching outside lights at Fire Station 2 to LED lights
✓ Supervised new roof construction at Fire Station 1
✓ Supervised new roof construction at Public Works Building
✓ Installed new LED parking lot lights at Police Department and on the outside of the building
✓ Installed new LED parking lot lights at Fire Station 1
✓ Supervised new roof replacement at Recreation Center gymnasium
✓ Installed new LED lights at Senior Center
✓ Installed new solar screen at Fire Station 2
Objectives for FY 2019
➢ Provide a better and more efficient building maintenance program through prompt
response in performing and supervising repair activities
➢ Provide a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to ensure the efficiency and
availability of building systems
➢ Ensure a suitable working environment for City employees through proper maintenance,
thereby providing better service to citizens
➢ Install new walls on northside of the building and new closet in multipurpose room.
➢ Assist Parks Department in demolition of the old bathroom and installation of new bathroom
at North Park
➢ Install security lighting on northwest lot at Public Works building
➢ Install new door and security access at Parks Maintenance Building
➢ Finish security lighting and poles at Midway
