Hospital Parkway Water Line

This project involves the replacement of approximately 1,400 linear feet of 8-inch cast iron water line running
from 2612 Hospital Drive at the southeast corner of Tibbets Drive to Highway 183. The existing pipe is cast
iron, installed in 1971 per GIS records, and has required numerous repairs over the years. Public Works has
identified this segment as a long-standing area of concern. The majority of the pipe is located within the right-
of-way; however, the project will require pavement repair and restoration as part of construction.

Replacement of this aging cast iron main will eliminate a repeatedly failing segment of the water distribution
system that has required ongoing emergency repairs over many years. Proactive replacement will reduce
unplanned repair costs, staff emergency response time, and service disruptions to residents and businesses
along the corridor. Pavement restoration is included in the project scope, avoiding the need for a separate
future paving mobilization. Once replaced, this segment is expected to operate reliably within the standard
maintenance cycle, significantly reducing the frequency and cost of interventions that have burdened the
Public Works operating budget for years.
