ADVANCED METERING INFRASTRUCTURE (AMI) PROJECT

❖ Description: This project is for the
replacement of the City’s current
outdated water metering system
with a modern, adaptable advanced
metering Infrastructure (AMI)
solution.

Justification: The City’s current
water metering system is outdated.
The AMI solution allows for remote
meter reading, which eliminates the
need to read directly from the meter
box. Utility billing will be able to collect meter readings more efficiently, accurately, and
faster. Because the data transmits from the endpoint directly to the software, there are
less opportunity of error and the need for re-read situations.

Operating Impact: This project is being funded with the 2024 Certificate of Obligation
issuance.
