        Fleet Division






        Mission Statement

        To  provide  a  comprehensive  fleet  management  program,
        which responsibly fulfills the vehicle and equipment needs for the City of Watauga through cost-effective and
        dedicated personal service.
        Department Overview

            •  Maintain city vehicles and equipment properly and to the highest standard with limited down time and
               costs.
            •  Coordinate new vehicle upfitting and emergency light installation.
            •  Maintain compliance with mandated state and federal program.
            •  Coordinate used vehicles and equipment auction within city and state guidelines.

        Highlights/Achievements for FY2024

            •  Maintained city vehicles and equipment properly to the highest standard with limited downtime while
               being under staffed.
            •  Effectively coordinated new vehicle upfitting and lighting installations.
            •  Maintained compliance with mandated state and federal programs.
            •  Successfully completed fleet shop expansion.


        Goals/Objectives for FY2025
            •  Fill vacant positions and maintain adequate staffing levels.
            •  Continue  with  the  purchasing  of  more  fuel-efficient  vehicles  and  equipment  to  reduce  fuel  and
               maintenance costs.
