             Summary:

             The Records Services Unit serves as the repository        Number of Open Record Requests
             for the official records that document the activity of
             the Police Department.  The Texas Public         1,800

             document related to official city business.  The
             department handles both ORR (Open Record         1,200

             request, including if it was submitted to the Attorney

             Update:

             Requests for both police open records (ORR) and
             interagency records (IRR) dropped about five
             percent in the last quarter of FY 2021.               Number of Interagency Record Requests
                    ORRs went from 1,499 in the third quarter
                    to 1,417 in the fourth quarter (‐5.4%)   1,650
                    IRRs fell from 1,427 to 1,355 (‐5%) to close   1,550

             LexisNexis and Metro Reporting led the number of

             ORRs with 304 (22.4% of the total requests). The
             remaining requests are from various types of    1,150
             requestors including law firms and insurance    1,050

             As expected, the Department of Family Protective   850
             Services (DFPS) led the number of IRRs with 378   750

             Tarrant County and FBI. All of these combined
             accounted for 55.8% of all interagency requests.
