Summary:
This item supports the Council's "Enhancing Regional Via Ridership
Mobility" priority by improving access between Arlington 160,000

The app‐based rideshare service uses six‐passenger 60,000
vehicles, a smart phone application and dynamic routing

to provide efficient on‐demand trips and access to a wide
range of destinations. As of January 19, 2021, Via will 20,000
serve the entire City of Arlington and the CentrePort TRE ‐
Station. The turn‐key operation is operated and 1st Qtr 2nd Qtr 3rd Qtr 4th Qtr
maintained by Via, Transportation, Inc. through an annual
contract based on City Council approval. Partial funding is
provided through the Federal Transit Administration. Via Active Accounts

Via ridership increased during the 4 quarter of FY 2021, 80,000
with a total of 139,264 rides given in this quarter. 784,008

the end of the Fiscal Year. Since expansion to City‐wide
service in January 2021, there are currently 68 6‐ 20,000
passenger vehicles available for the service, and 14 of
these vans are wheelchair accessible. A fare adjustment ‐
took place on February 15, 2021, shifting fares to a range 1st Qtr 2nd Qtr 3rd Qtr 4th Qtr
from $3 to $5, depending on trip distance. Trips to and
from the CentrePort TRE Station are still $3. The weekly
ViaPass increased from $15 to $25 per week.
