SPECIAL EVENTS DEPARTMENT

               MISSION STATEMENT:

               To provide family friendly events for all ages that will enhance the quality of life for participants
               and meets the needs of the community.

               Department at a Glance

               The Special  Events  Department  includes  one full-time event coordinator.  The  Special Events  budget
               increased 1.72% in FY 2019-2020 due to a merit adjustment.

               Key Goals and Objectives

               Goal 1
               Provide quality community-wide special events.

               Objectives:

                   •  Continue to evaluate and improve current popular events such as Rock’n 4  of July,
                       Snowman Run, Music Alley and Hometown Holidays.
                   •  Continue to assist local organizations with their events held throughout the year.
                   •  Continue to monitor state and national trends by being active in professional
                       organizations such as TFEA and IFEA.

               Goal 2
               Increase the number of events and find alternate revenue streams.

               Objectives:
                   •  Seek opportunities for additional revenue streams within new events.
                   •  Solicit sponsorships to add additional opportunities for entertainment and programs
                       throughout the parks and recreation system.

               Goal 3
               Increase attendance at special events.

               Objectives:
                   •  Look for more opportunities to cross-market with other events.
                   •  Continue to increase followers with help from marketing department.
                   •  Develop new creative ways to advertise events.

               Performance Objectives
                   •  Continue to provide quality special events for the community.
                   •  Increase sponsorships and opportunities to increase revenue.
                   •  Explore new marketing and advertising strategies with the marketing department.
