DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Fiscal Services Department oversees the fiscal activities of the City and is responsible for maintaining financial and
accounting systems, as well as develop and maintain the annual operating budget. The department is also responsible for
maintaining a governmental accounting and budgeting system that provides full disclosure of accurate financial
information to both external and internal management. Core functions include accounts payable, accounts receivable,
budgeting, and financial reporting which includes the preparation of the ACFR (Annual Comprehensive Financial Report).
Other direct responsibilities include investments and cash management, debt issuance, financial policies, long-range
planning, budget development and coordination, annual audit preparation, rate and user fee review, banking, and other
special projects. Within the Fiscal Services Department in the General Fund are Finance, Purchasing, and Municipal Court
divisions.

The Fiscal Services Department is committed to be responsible for all financial aspects of the City.
FY25 DEPARTMENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Issued the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, and Awarded the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence
in Financial Reporting
Implemented OpenGov financial ERP and budgeting system
Awarded the GFOA Budget Presentation Award
Successfully worked with citizens, vendors, and staff to ensure the efficient operations and reporting of the City’s
financial resources.
