Crime Reduction efforts for this quarter include:
• The Violent Crimes Unit remains focused on
investigating crimes committed with firearms.
In the fourth quarter, the unit was assigned
114 cases to investigate. In support of these
investigations, the Crime Scene Unit entered
354 shell casings into the National Integrated
Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN), receiving
83 investigative leads. Overall, the department
booked 31% more firearms into the Property
Room than the previous quarter.
• Detectives referred 1 case to the department’s
federal partners for prosecution.
