CITY OF HALTOM CITY ANNUAL BUDGET, FY2023                     General Fund




          STREET AND DRAINGE



                       Mission Statement


            To perform maintenance of streets, drainage and traffic control systems in a manner that will
            provide for the safe and efficient movement of traffic and to ensure flow of storm water through
            the enclosed drainage collection system.


            The Street Maintenance Department general duties and responsibilities include: maintain and
            repair streets, sweep streets and curbs, maintain and install traffic control devices (signs, signals
            and pavement markings), maintain and mow city owned properties.



                Accomplishments of FY2022

             ◊  Removed asphalt on Matar Street and laid 284 tons of Type D Surface Asphalt.
             ◊  Removed and Replaced  255 linear feet of curb and 8 drive approaches in the 4100 block
                 of Patricia Street.
             ◊  Removed and Replaced 112 linear feet of curb and gutter with 3 Drive Approaches at other
                 parts of the city.
             ◊  Removed  552 feet of existing asphalt on Ellison Ave. and assisted Street Construction with
                 replacing underground storm drain pipe, then laid 120 tons of asphalt on Ellison.
             ◊  Assisted Street Construction in the replacement of roughly 200 linear feet of sewer pipe and
                 reconnected 8 sewer service lines.
             ◊  Replaced 218 regulatory Signs
             ◊  Made repairs to 431 traffic signals
             ◊  Swept 2,405 curb miles of streets


                    Objectives for FY2023


              ◊  Upgrade the Battery Back-up system at Carson/Midway, and Haltom/Stanley Keller
              ◊  Decrease the amount of time for water/sewer street cut repairs
              ◊  Replace 200 Tons of Type B (Binder) and 120 tons of Type D, Surface asphalt in the 4100
                  block of Patricia.
              ◊  Replacement of 1/8 of a mile concrete lane in the 4700 block of Western Center
              ◊  Crack Seal 4 lane miles of city streets
              ◊  Mill and overlay .5 miles of city streets
              ◊  Replace 200 foot of sidewalk throughout the city for safer passage for pedestrians.
