MISSION / PROGRAMS / SERVICES:
Development Services Division consists of several different sections, which includes planning & zoning,
engineering, building inspections and permitting.
x Provide quality development, revitalization and ordinance administration and enforcement.
x Engineering and Building inspection will ensure that all plans and projects submitted meet the city
specifications through plan review and field inspections.
x Customer service through the Permit and Inspection process.

FY2019-2020 HIGHLIGHTS / ACHIEVEMENTS:
x Completed over 400 Single Family Rental Inspections during Fiscal Year 2019-2020..
x Over 1,000 permits were processed by Public Works.
x Began utilizing an outsourced inspection services for all commercial and residential inspections.
x Updated Public Works fee schedule.
x Completed scanning all municipal building plans and began the scanning of commercial project
plans.
x Completed Starnes Road 16” waterline project.
x Completed Dunson Drive CDBG 44 Sewer Project.
FY2020-2021 GOALS/ OBJECTIVES:
x To support the goals and objectives of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan.
x To provide timely and accurate plan review for contractors and developers.
x Continue to maximize revitalization efforts (Tarrant County Home Project) within the city to allow
for the most effective use of funds allowed for repairing and maintaining housing.
x Engineering and Building inspection will ensure that all plans and projects submitted meet the city
specifications through plan review and field inspections.
x Customer service through the Permit and Inspection process.
x To enhance technical knowledge of staff through in-house and outside training sources.
x Complete scanning all commercial project plans.
