Rankin Drive Full Reconstruction &
Improvements
This project involves the full reconstruction of Rankin Drive from Forest Ridge Drive to Wade Drive.
Rankin Drive has been included in the City's five-year Capital Improvement Plan and will be added again the
current five-year Street plan due to low pavement condition index (PCI) scores and the condition of the
roadway. The project will include full-depth pavement reconstruction, water line replacement (existing line is of
unknown age and material and is past its serviceable life) and storm drain improvements to address known
drainage concerns in the area. Drainage improvements are also consistent with recommendations in the City's
Drainage Master Plan.
Replacement of the aging water line and installation of storm drain infrastructure is expected to reduce long-
term maintenance costs associated with water line repairs and localized flooding response. Reconstructed
pavement will reduce routine maintenance needs for an estimated 20 year pavement life cycle. No significant
increase to the operating budget is anticipated as a result of this project.
