Brown Trail Paving
This project consists of the full reconstruction of Brown Trail from Pipeline Road to Bedford Road, including
concrete pavement replacement, curb and gutter, sidewalk construction, and street lighting upgrades. The City
recently completed water and sewer utility replacements within this corridor, and pavement reconstruction is
the final phase of restoring the street to full condition.
The existing pavement has a critically low PCI score, making reconstruction the appropriate and cost-effective
solution at this time. This project is also the first segment of a broader corridor improvement strategy for Brown
Trail, and is intended to set the standard for future reconstruction phases along the corridor. New sidewalks
and street lighting will improve pedestrian connectivity and safety for residents accessing adjacent
neighborhoods, schools, and destinations along this route.
This project is partially funded through the 2021 Tarrant County Transportation Bond Program (TBP). The City
of Bedford and Tarrant County have executed an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) under which the County will
reimburse the City up to 50% of eligible design and construction costs.
