Summary:
Adaptive/Inclusive Participants
The Parks and Recreation Department will be
striving to expand its offerings to include a variety 300
of adaptive and inclusive programs, facilities and 250
amenities to cater to the City’s diverse population.
This initiative seeks to improve accessibility and 200
inclusivity across all community offerings, ensuring 150
that individuals from all backgrounds and abilities
can participate in and benefit from parks and 100
recreation in the American Dream City. The 50
Department will be assessing the current programs ‐
and facilities, identifying service gaps and pursuing
innovative solutions to meet the needs of 1st Qtr 2nd Qtr 3rd Qtr 4th Qtr
underserved communities. The goal is to create, Participants
expand and adapt our offerings to create a more
welcoming and inclusive environment for all Adaptive/Inclusive Programs

As we entered the final quarter of the year, our 20
adaptive programming faced significant 15
adjustments due to the intense summer heat and 10
operational demands, leading to a reduction in
programs to prioritize participant safety. Despite 5
these challenges, we maintained high‐quality ‐
services, focusing on community engagement and 1st Qtr 2nd Qtr 3rd Qtr 4th Qtr
accessible recreational opportunities. Moving Programs
forward, we will evaluate our current offerings and
plan to expand programming in the cooler months
to better serve our adaptive community. ENGAGE Arlington:
Adaptive fitness: Chair Seated Exercise with Strength
Center Programs: Training with Resistance bands 2x/week, 40 participants.
Adaptive Bingo: Bingocize integrating bingo and balance
EAST Library and Recreation Center: exercises with 60 & better 1x/month, 5‐10 participants.
Chair Exercise Classes: 6 classes per week Music therapy: Grill & Chill special event – group singing
– 10 participants per class including Senior with older songs. 1 per quarter, 45 participants
Fit, Chair Pilates, and Chair Yoga Tech classes: Cell phone help monthly, 5 participants
Walk With a Doc: 3 events – 30
participants per event Low‐exertion day trips: Mesquite Rodeo, George Bush Presidential
Library, Fossil Rim Wildlife; Mid‐Cities Greek Food Festiva
