Defibrillators are one of the most important pieces of equipment used
FUNDING SOURCE: CARES Funding
by the Fire Department to save lives. This request will replace four units
dating back to 2011, which are reaching end-of-life. Defibrillators are UNIT #: 925
carried on all front-line apparatus used by the Department. This is the

first year of a two-year phased replacement plan.

The current backhoe is 13 years old and is at the end-of-life. The

equipment is primarily used for the maintenance and repair of the water
distribution and wastewater collection systems. The unit has required UNIT #: 816
repair multiple times due to use and age. The most recent major repair
AGE (YEARS): 13
was completed in 2017, when the hydraulic system had to be rebuilt, at
a cost of $10,720. 2-YR MAINTENANCE COST: $ 6,804

REPLACEMENT NEED: REPLACEMENT COST: $ 22,500
The haul trailer used to transport the backhoe has a weight rating of FUNDING SOURCE: Water Vehicle Rpl Fund
22,000 pounds. It was recently noted that the weight rating is not
sufficient to haul the current backhoe, which weighs 23,500 pounds. The UNIT #: 927
requested haul trailer has a weight rating of 40,000 pounds and would
be able to handle the backhoe weight and any other equipment and AGE (YEARS): 13
parts needed on the job site. The current trailer will be re-purposed, but 2-YR MAINTENANCE COST: $ -
an older trailer will be auctioned.

This haul trailer is utilized to transport various equipment to the job site.
FUNDING SOURCE: SIEDC
The current trailer's weight rating is not sufficient to haul some of the
street maintenance equipment. The trailer was a Police seizure and was UNIT #: 199
purchased by Public Works for $2,650. Due to age and usage, the trailer AGE (YEARS): 15
has a bent axle and the metal deck of the trailer is cracked.
