Council Priorities: Redevelopment, Public Safety

Goals:

• Increase effectiveness of the Multi-Family Housing program through routine program
evaluation and dedicated enforcement.
• Through regular outreach opportunities, establish relationships within the community and
work on various education efforts related to building codes and programs.
• Provide expedient, thorough, professional plan reviews and housing inspections.
• Implement phone tree to provide better customer service, routing the customer to the
correct contact versus the permit technician being pulled away from permit activities.

Objectives:

• Continue to update the Code of Ordinances as needed to enhance and enrich the
Quality of Life.
 0-3 Years Short Term

 Implement new software for development, code compliance and permitting enabling
nearly paperless workflows for submissions and reviews.
 0-3 Years Short Term

• Conduct at least one inspection and follow-up inspection at all 32 apartment complexes,
concentrating on those properties that receive low scores without neglecting the
properties that perform maintenance.

• Improve the efficiency of the Rental Registration process on the staff and citizen side.
