The Traffic Unit continues to provide safety seat
education to elementary schools through its partnership
with Seasons of Change Inc. These efforts include
providing free safety seats and installing them in
vehicles.

Additionally, officers continue to provide traffic safety
education to elementary and high school students.

To better focus their efforts, the Commercial Vehicle
Enforcement (CVE) Unit is now the Highway Enforcement
Unit (HEU), which will allow for added emphasis on
safety on Arlington’s main roads. The HEU will provide
metrics in the future.

The DWI Unit continues its strict enforcement of DWI
laws through traffic enforcement and community
education. The unit patrols high-traffic areas and assists
patrol districts to target repeat crash locations. The unit
continues its commitment to youth education by giving
presentations to high school students. The presentations
focus on the dangers and ramifications of driving while
intoxicated and includes testimonials from families
impacted by the loss of a loved one.
