Summary:

The City of Arlington Water Utilities will maintain a Metered Ratio
metered ratio rolling average above 88%. In FY 2025,
Arlington Water Utilities will proactively evaluate 25,000 100%
linear feet of water line for leaks to catch them in the 80%
early stages before significant water loss occurs.
Arlington Water Utilities will also evaluate and make 60%
recommendations to purchase additional leak detection

Update:
AWU was able to keep the metered ratio at 84.54% for 0%

the 3 Quarter. An increase in major water main breaks FY 2025 1st Qtr 2nd Qtr 3rd Qtr 4th Qtr
and a large upsurge in contractor damage incidents, Total
totaling more than 17.7 million gallons of lost water, has
prevented the continued trend of raising the ratio above
the 90% level. We are instituting new technology that
will allow us to investigate and repair water leaks that
have not yet surfaced, thereby reducing the water loss
ratio.
