 DIVISION DESCRIPTION:
 The Communications and Records Activity provides radio communications services, telephone answering services, reports filing and maintenance services, and
 report processing retrieval for all Police Department functions. The Communications and Records Communications Specialists, two Senior Communications
 Specialists, the Police Services Supervisor, and a Commander - operates Activity is supervised by a Commander and the Police Services Supervisor. The Activity -

 staffed by six full-time twenty-four hours per day and seven days per week.

 DIVISION GOALS:
 • To provide prompt radio communication services.
 • To provide fast and efficient telephone answering service for the Police Department.
 • To effectively maintain all police report information including accident reports and incident reports.
 • To process and retrieve reports in an efficient manner.

 DIVISION OBJECTIVES:
 • To monitor expenditures and remain within + or - 5% of the Activity's budget allocation.
 • To reduce the error rate to less than 1% on the teletype/computer.
 • To dispatch calls for service within an average of 1 minute or less.
 • To process all reports within one working day from the time received.

 • To notify owners of vehicles being towed within three days of impoundment.
