On June 23, 2020, the Arlington City Council created the Council gives direction to Completed May 4,

The permanent Unity Council is a nine‐member body
which has a membership that aligns with the diversity of
the city. The Unity Council will meet monthly and report to
the City Council on a bi‐annual basis on its work and
progress. The City Council also asked that the Unity
Council act as the body referenced in recommendation
5.6.B to create an independent MWBE public oversight
committee chosen by the City Council.
The City Council has asked the Unity Council to establish
performance measures that will allow the City Council to
review progress on the work being done on equity in
Arlington.
