Intersection - Continuing Project improvements include adding additional right and left turn lanes, signalization improvements, and all necessary water
and sewer main adjustments. This project is a 2003 Bond Program Project.
Glenview Drive East Project - The project consists of engineering and construction of approximately 2,700 linear feet of Glenview Drive from
Continuing Project Boulevard 26 to Flory Street. The improvements include reconstructing the existing roadway with reinforced concrete,
including the addition of sidewalks. The road will be rebuilt to its current width; this is not a roadway expansion.
Grand Avenue (Library to Health This project consists of extending the paving improvements on Grand Avenue next to the new library where the Public
Markets Access Road) - Works Department has temporarily placed asphalt. Specifically, the limits of this project are from the end of the current
Continuing Project concrete section of Grand Avenue to the Health Markets Access Road. Portions of this project were included as
additive alternates in the "Grand Avenue Street and Utility Improvements" project (ST0702); however, the project
funding was unable to support additional improvements beyond the base project. The current asphalt section will be
replaced with a 26 foot wide concrete pavement section. This section will only consist of 2 lanes for traffic. The on-
street parking will be installed by the developer.

Reconstruction - New Project current asphalt with concrete roadway, in addition to curb, gutter, sidewalks, raised medians and drainage. Current road
coniditon is poor and is critical road used by Prestige Ameritech, ESNA Aerospace and Tyson Prepared Foods.

St. Extension Project - Smithfield Transit Oriented Development, Main St. is an existing street that lacks lacks pedestrian infrastructure such
Continuing Project as sidewalks, street furniture, lighting and trees. Snider St. intersects with Main St. and will be extended northward as a
pedestrian friendly street (sidewalks, street furniture, lighting and trees). A majority of the funds come from the
NCTCOG Sustainable Development Funding Program that connects public transportation, pedestrian mobility and
mixed use development. Project funding is contingent upon NCTCOG approval and notice to proceed. Project scope
also includes land purchase in the Smithfield TOD.
