Park and Recreation

         Who we are

          The Mission of the North Richland Hills Parks and Recreation Department is to provide the community with
          outstanding parks and open spaces, a regional connected trail system, excellent recreation facilities and innovative and
          high quality programs and events which contribute to a desired, quality of life city.
          Vision Statement ‐ A healthy, happy and connected community, where everyone matters.

         FY 2019-20 Top Accomplishments


            Completed engineering & design for Iron Horse Golf Course Renovation Project including major course
             improvements including drainage, improved tees and fairways, improved cart paths, new billy bunkers, improved
             irrigation system, and redesigned Holes 13& 14. Also designed improvements to the Club House. The project is
             expected to be completed in September 2020.

            Completed the concept phase, design development phase and construction documentation phase for the
             Renovation of Linda Spurlock Park. Initiated the Construction phase with the contractor to construct the proposed
             improvements.



            Initiated design and engineering for construction of mountain bike trails at Fossil Creek Park. Developed a
             partnership with Fort Worth Mountain Bike Association for assistance in constructing the trails and perpetual
             maintenance of the trails.


            Produced 100% cost recovery of operational costs of the NRH Centre and the Grand Hall and improved cost
             recovery at the Richland Tennis Center.




            Completed several in‐house web site designs including the Richland Tennis Center, Green Valley Race Way
             Historical Plaza, NRH2O Family Water Park and the Grand Hall.
