         Who we are

          The City Attorney’s Office focuses on providing excellent, consistent legal support and quality customer service to the
          City Council, City Manager’s Office, City departments and Boards and Commissions of the City of North Richland Hills.
          The City Attorney’s office strives to be a well‐managed and efficient office that is proactive and integrated into the day‐
          to‐day activities of the City, works to find innovative legal solutions to assist the City in accomplishing its goals, and is
          recognized for exemplary professionalism and ethical behavior that reflects the values of the residents and the City
          Council of North Richland Hills.

         FY 2019-20 Top Accomplishments

            Assisted consultants and city staff with the creation of a public improvement district and tax increment financing
             district, and negotiated a multi‐million dollar economic development agreement for a 60 acre mixed‐use project for
             the City Point Development


            Secured dismissal of two federal lawsuits against the City for alleged violation of civil rights

            Facilitated and negotiated a mediated settlement of a potential multi‐million dollar claim for a contract dispute
             against the City for less than 40% of the initial demand amount


            Settled three claims against the City that prevented costly and unnecessary ensuing litigation

            Received numerous invitations to serve as guest speakers or panelists on various legal topics, and regularly engage
             with the community by attending career day activities at various schools and events around the Tarrant County
             area. City Attorney: International Municipal Lawyer’s Association – Short Term Rental Panel; University of Texas at
             Arlington – Voting Rights Panel; Tarrant County Bar Association – Planning Committee and Roundtable Moderator
             for the annual Women in the Law Luncheon; Career Day Speaker – Two elementary schools; DFW City Attorneys, a
             TML affiliate. Assistant City Attorney: UTA Pre‐Law Conference – Guest panelist; TMCA Clerks Conference – Guest
             panelist; Career Day Speaker – Fort Worth Christian School.
