MANSFIELD CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU
MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of the Mansfield Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is to enhance the local tourism
industry in Mansfield through marketing, promoting and developing opportunities for business and leisure
travel, while coordinating with local partners, businesses and entertainment venues to enhance the
visitor’s experience.
Department at a Glance
The CVB is funded by appropriations from the City of Mansfield Hotel/Motel Tax Fund. The CVB
includes one Tourism Manager and one Tourism Coordinator. Total funding for CVB in FY 2020-2021 is
$410,000, which is a 5% increase over last fiscal year.
Key Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
Advertise and market to outside groups that will bring “heads in beds” to Mansfield hotels.
Objectives:
• Continue selling the Sports, Military, Educational, Religious, and Fraternal (SMERF) travel sub-
groups destination Sunday-Thursday market.
• Work with the Historic Mansfield downtown groups to develop a Cultural Arts Master Plan.
• Work with area CVBs on various regional marketing packages throughout the year.
Goal 2
Coordinate with local hotels, restaurants, businesses, and entertainment venues to create “tourism package
deals” for business visitors.
Objectives:
• Work with Texas Downtown Association to solicit larger events to the downtown region.
• Work with various LOCs to provide Mansfield travel deals in conjunction with regional events.
• Co-op radio promotions and tourism packages with new South Metro Tourism Initiative.
Goal 3
Create a state and national marketing campaign for art, entertainment, and leisure opportunities in
Mansfield.
Objectives:
• Conduct a cultural arts study.
• Continue to work with Big League Dreams, Fieldhouse USA, The Star Center, Mansfield
National Golf Course, and Hawaiian Falls waterpark on cross-marketing material for trade shows
and hotel package options.
• Work with Ben Barber Innovation Academy and Tarrant County Community College hospitality
departments, using students to help with the tourism efforts and implementation of the Hospitality
Hero Program.
