CITY MANAGER GEORGE CAMPBELL

                                           George Campbell was appointed as City Manager of the City of Kennedale
                                           in April 2017, after serving in an interim capacity for a brief time. He is a
                                           graduate of Texas Tech University, with an undergraduate degree in

                                           Government. He earned his Masters of Public Administration degree from
                                           the School of Urban and Public Affairs at UT Arlington in 1989. Prior to his
                                           service in Kennedale Campbell has served the City Management profession
                                           as City Manager or Deputy City Manager in the North Texas Cities of
                                           Coppell (1972–1977), Weatherford (1977–1983 and 2002–2006),
                                           Arlington (1983–1999), and Denton (2006–2016).


               Campbell has served in numerous professional organizations, received awards or
               recognition, and participated in a service capacity including but not limited to:

                     Texas City Management Association (TCMA) President, 1996
                     University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) Alumni Board President, 1996
                     North Texas City Management Association (NTCMA) President, 1983
                     Urban Management Assistants of North Texas (UMANT) Joy Sansom Mentor Award, 1994
                     Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau Board Member, 1999 to 2001
                     River Legacy Foundation Board of Directors, 1999 to 2003; Vice President, 2000 to 2002
                     ORIGINS Museum and Cultural Center (In Association with the Smithsonian Institution)
                       Board Member, 1999 to 2004
                     North Texas Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration: Public
                       Administrator of the Year, 1998
                     UTA Alumni Association: Distinguished Alumni Award, 2000
                     United Way of Tarrant County: Various involvement since 1990, including Tarrant County
                       Chair for Municipal Government Campaign
                     UTA Masters of Public Administration Advisory Committee Chair, 1999
                     Vision North Texas Advisory Committee
                     United Way of Denton County Executive Committee and Public Sector Chair, 2008,  2009
