CULTURAL ARTS / SPECIAL EVENTS
DESCRIPTION / MISSION
The Cultural Arts Division provides community-wide cultural arts programming and special events, as well as branding & marketing materials and on
going development and updates to all digital platforms for the department. This division provides cultural arts and special event opportunities to the
citizens of North Richland Hills through: performing art programs, art collections, educational opportunities, curated exhibits and family oriented
special events. The Cultural Arts Division creates advertising, logos, illustrations, websites, brand identities, collateral and promotional materials for
programs and events provided by the City. The Cultural Arts and Events Division includes research and development of grant writing and funding
along with community partnerships. The Cultural Arts division works collaboratively and serves as a liaison with area businesses, other city
departments and local and national arts organizations.
GOALS
• To develop and promote a diverse offering of cultural arts including visual and performing arts. (A Sense of Community)
• To creatively facilitate departmental and city-wide special events that help create a sense of place within the community and
supports quality of life. (A Sense of Community)
• To provide high quality branding, promotional and logo development materials and messages for events, programs and services
throughout the department. (Positive City Image)
• To coordinate in repurposing aging works in the City's public art collection, by reconfiguring locations and placement, and
arranging necessary repairs. (Quality Development and Revitalization)
• To provide safe and positive community experiences through programs, events and the arts for people of all ages and abilities.

• To assist and support the development of the public art program, which creates a sense of identity for the community. (Positive

• To establish NRH as a leader in art initiatives and increase the overall recognition of the City. (Positive City Image)
OBJECTIVES
• Implement programs that encourage exposure and participation in the Arts, for both youth and adults.
• Develop partnerships with local area artists to provide cultural arts opportunities to North Richland Hills.
• Produce, or assist with, 12 Cultural Events and 5 Special Events for the community.
• Secure a minimum of four new corporate sponsorships, partnerships and grants that support new cultural arts programs and
special events.
• Identify one new loaned art piece for the Art in Public Spaces Program.
• Develop branding and promotional materials for events and programs utilizing traditional and digital platforms.
• Coordinate and implement the creation of large scale art installation/mural along the TexRail Iron Horse corridor.
• Coordinate the acquisition and implementation of transitioning the current Signal Art Music Legends to new Sports Legends.
