FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT

               MISSION STATEMENT:

               The mission of the Facilities Management Department is to provide a safe, clean work environment for
               the City’s employees and maintain aesthetically pleasing facilities for employees, visitors, and residents.

               Department at a Glance

               The Facilities Management Department is responsible for all City-owned facilities including City Hall,
               Public Safety  buildings,  the  Library,  Activity Center,  and  Law  Enforcement Center. The  department
               budget increased 4.71% in FY 2019-2020 due to an increase in contractual services and utilities. The
               Facilities Management Department includes one supervisor and three technicians.

               Key Goals and Objectives

               Goal 1
               Administer a comprehensive preventive maintenance program in order to reduce cost and stabilize budget
               forecasts.

               Objectives:
                   •  Provide resources to continue the execution of the preventative maintenance program.
                   •  Perform a comprehensive evaluation of all City facilities and associated equipment.
                   •  Set equipment upgrade/replacement priorities using a risk assessment matrix.

               Goal 2
               Research and implement ways to make City facilities more energy efficient.

               Objectives:
                   •  Provide resources to continue the LED light fixture replacement program.
                   •  Regularly evaluate HVAC units and replace aging equipment with more efficient units.
                   •  Provide resources to identify and prioritize the replacement of less efficient infrastructure with
                       more energy efficient systems.

               Goal 3
               Manage upkeep of city facilities ensuring timeliness and proficiency.

               Objectives:
                   •  Negotiate and administer all janitorial, generator, pest control and elevator contracts.
                   •  Preserve the visually aesthetic appearance of buildings via routine painting schedules and flooring
                       maintenance/replacement services.
                   •  Allow for timely  maintenance response by utilizing the M Help Desk software which allows
                       departmental personnel to input requests and generate work orders.

               Performance Objectives
                   •  Perform more proactive, rather than reactive, maintenance to save on costs.
                   •  Continue to implement energy efficient solution to save on costs.
                   •  Provide a safe and pleasant work environment for employees and citizens who visit our facilities.
