PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the Facilities Maintenance Division is to manage building operations and maintenance activities in order to maintain and
improve the City's infrastructure. Facilities Maintenance provides general maintenance, custodial services, heating and air conditioning
(HVAC) control, security and fire system monitoring, and outstanding customer service to 13 facilities spread throughout Bedford. Staff
also coordinates annual elevator inspections, window cleaning, pest control, carpet cleaning, boiler inspections, fire alarm system
inspections, fire extinguisher inspections, and fire sprinkler system inspections.
FY 2018-2019 HIGHLIGHTS
∗ Completed roof and truss replacement project at Old Bedford School.
∗ Replaced carpet in bunk room at Fire Station 3.
∗ Removed and replaced 8 HVAC units at Public Works.
∗ Completed bathroom renovations at Public Works.
∗ Installed two new entrance lights at the Forest Ridge and Bedford Road entrances of the Library.
∗ Replaced 17 external fixtures at City Hall with 6 energy efficient LED fixtures.
