                       MISSION STATEMENT


                       The City of Hurst develops and implements plans to invest in
                       information technology that provides highly effective and responsive

                       services for internal and external customers.


                       DIVISION DESCRIPTION


                       The Information  Technology Division is responsible for developing, implementing,
                       purchasing and maintaining information technology within the city. It is the objective
                       of Information Technology to help each City division provide services that allow them to
                       be highly responsive to the needs of our external customers through the use of existing
                       and  new  technology.  Information Technology  assists  all  City  divisions  in  identifying
                       how through the use of new technology they can create effective programs to achieve
                       those goals. Information Technology through a collaborative committee oversees the
                       strategic planning process that is used for implementing new technology and replacing
                       obsolete equipment. The purchasing function for equipment and software is centralized
                       through the Information Technology Division as is the installation and maintenance
                       of all computer equipment and software. The Information Technology Division also
                       assumes responsibility for operation of the City’s telecommunication, building access
                       and Closed Circuit TV systems.


                       PRIOR YEAR RESULTS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS


                         •   Information Technology continues it’s equipment replacement program.
                         •   Information Technology completed migration to Exchange O365 from
                          GroupWise.
                         •   Staff continues to work with all departments on the continual upgrade and
                          maintenance of all applications.
                         •   Information Technology completed the update of the core network.
                         •   Information Technology is replacing the 14 year old out of production phone
                          system.
                         •   Information Technology is working with Fire on a new EMS system.
                         •   Information Technology is working with Recreation, Library and the Senior
                          Center on the update of their core software.
                         •   Information Technology replaced the City’s Firewalls.
                         •   Information Technology worked with Utility Billing on roll out of their Field
                          Hawk Solution.
