• Joy Lee (Earle to Dead End) and Swan (Joy Lee to Katrine). These streets are
combined into one project. This project also includes the replacement of the existing
asphalt street with a concrete pavement section, along with the replacement of the
existing sanitary sewer, water and drainage facilities. Project will be awarded for
construction in FY2019. It is anticipated that 70% of construction will occur in FY2019
and then completed in FY2020.
• Vicki Street (Field Street to Denton Hwy). This project includes the
replacement of the existing asphalt street with a concrete pavement section,
along with the replacement of the existing sanitary sewer, water and
drainage facilities. Project will be awarded for construction in FY2019. It is
anticipated that 50% of construction will occur in FY2019 and then completed
in FY2020.
• Little Fossil Improvements (Carson Bridge). This project consists of removing Carson
Street which acts as a bridge over Little Fossil Creek and sits below a state highway
(SH 121). While the construction of the project is being administered by the Texas
Department of Transportation, the City is responsible for all construction costs. To date,
the City has expended approximately $5,300,000 and anticipates spending up to
$500,000 in FY2019. Construction will be completed in FY2019 and afterwards, TxDOT
will begin their audit process to determine the final amount due from the City.
• Haltom Road Park. This project is modification of the park to include a Veterans
Memorial. This project is under construction. Project cost of $750,000 is included in the
FY2018 budget. The final cost is anticipated to be about $915,000.
• North Park. This project includes a new restroom, new backstop and fence repairs on
the adult softball field, and, as funds allow, repairs to the entrance and road in the park.
Project cost of $250,000 is included in the FY2018 budget. Fence repairs were
completed in June 2017 for a total cost $25,490. A new restroom in the amount of
$85,630 will be installed in January 2019. Public Works will demolish the old restroom
and prepare the slab for the new restroom. Additional costs for plumbing and electric
hookups will be incurred.
• North Park/Northeast Optimist Ballfields – This includes reconstruction/repair of the
ballfields with electrical and plumbing work, building and field repair/reconstruction,
drainage and road repair
• Buffalo Ridge Park– The park will be added with security lighting, trail marking, new
signs, and playground replacement.
