Animal Control Public Safety 01-523
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Animal Control provides efficient, courteous and prompt response to requests from citizens for all animal control
services and pro-actively educates citizens while reducing the number of stray animals.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:
To expand Animal Control services to include weekend adoptions
To Increase by 5% the number of animal returned to owners
To Decrease The Number of Animals Euthanized by 5%
To equip Animal Control with a large animal retrieval capability.
To add an extended hour day(s) for the Animal Control Shelter so the public can access services during the
evening and weekends.
KEY POINTS OF PROPOSED BUDGET:
Personnel Services: Increase due to step increases, 3% cost of living adjustment, and increased benefit costs.
Increase requested to add an additional part-time kennel tech position.
Contractual Services: Increase requested for additional travel and training for proposed part-time kennel tech
position.
