City of Mansfield Annual Budget and Service Program Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Table of Contents

           Fire Department at a Glance

The Fire Department is responsible for safeguarding the community through fire suppression,
emergency medical services, rescue operations, and disaster preparedness. The department responds to
fires, medical emergencies, hazardous incidents, and other crises while maintaining a high level of
readiness through ongoing training, equipment maintenance, and professional certification. In addition
to emergency response, the department enforces fire codes, conducts inspections and plan reviews,
issues permits, and provides public education programs that promote fire safety and prevention.
Through these combined efforts, the Fire Department protects lives and property, strengthens
community resilience, and ensures compliance with public safety standards.

The City of Mansfield operates five Fire Stations across the City, with the potential for a sixth station as the
southern sector continues to grow. The Mansfield Fire Department includes five divisions –
Administration, Prevention, Operations, Emergency Medical Services, and Emergency Management. A
separate cost center was created in FY 2024-2025 for the purpose of tracking medical transport costs
which are offset by ambulance revenue. The newly added cost center is contractual only and does not
           include personnel costs.
