MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
Program Description
The City of Forest Hill is responsible for maintaining a safe, pleasant environment by providing effective
governance and the efficient delivery of public service. The City of Forest Hill is a “home-rule” city
operating under the City Charter originally adopted in 1946. The city is operated by a Council-Manager
form of government with a Mayor, six Council Members (all elected at large) and a City Manager. The
Council meets in regular sessions at 6:00 p.m. on the 1st Tuesday of each month.
Items funded within the Mayor and Council budget include city sponsored Boards and events such as –
Veterans Day, Juneteenth, Easter Event, Black History Month, Family Fun Day, Mayor’s Back to School,
Hispanic Heritage, National Night Out, Holiday Event, and City Wide Clean Up Days. Travel & Training is
budgeted for each council position. The Tarrant Area Food Bank/Kroger Boost program is budgeted at
$21,450.
