CITY OF FOREST HILL
General Fund Introduction
The General Fund budget supports functions and activities that are traditionally provided by local
government. These include police and fire protection, parks and recreation, streets and facilities
maintenance and repairs, and general administration. Revenues to finance these programs are
derived principally from ad valorem taxes, local sales taxes, franchise fees and transfers from the
City’s proprietary fund and special revenue funds.
