FY 2024-2025 Highlights
Parks
Installed 15 new Park Benches and 15 new picnic tables with cement pads.
Purchased a new model 321F Compact case front end loader.
Purchased new Kubota RTV Model 1140 side by side.
Purchased a new 14 ft. Dump Trailer.
Purchased a new 104 in. Hustler Brand Mower.
Purchased 4 new bleacher seating for Stormie Jones Park with cement pads.
Purchased new ball eld lighting for Stormie Jones Park.
Purchased new 54 ft. tall Christmas Tree.
Installed new Perry Weather Lighting Detection Weather System at Generation Parks, Stormie Jones Park, and Meadow
Park.
Roy Savage Pool repair, including new tile depth markers to be in compliance with the Tarrant County Code.
Installed 200 cubic feet of Engineered Wood Fiber at all playgrounds.
Hosted the annual Chunk Your Junk, Crud Cruiser, Paper Shred, and Clean Up Bedford Day events.
Recycled over 3,187 lbs of e-waste (laptops, personal computers, tablets, LCD televisions, etc.).
Recycled 2,800 lbs of scrap metal.
Recycled over 11,300 lbs of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW).
158 households participated in the Crud Cruiser event.
Recycled 8,950 lbs of oil, antifreeze and paint.
Over 13,880 lbs of paper were shredded at the Paper Shred Day event (145 residents participated).
Clean up Bedford Day had over 75 volunteers, collecting over 2,100 lbs. of trash.
Chunk Your Junk had 151 participants who lled up 13 40-yard roll-off dumpsters.
Energy-saving project where park staff retro- tted photo cells on all electrical controllers.
16 Park staff members attended the Texas Recreation & Parks Society (TRAPS) Conference in Allen, TX
3009 Glenwood Court Project completed with a newly installed pavilion, park bench, picnic table and sidewalk.
Park staff installed a pavilion at the Law Enforcement Center (LEC).
Park staff completed landscape work at the new Senior Citizen Activity Center.
Recreation
With the establishment of two new agreements with BESA and GenPlay, the City was able to generate over $125,000 of
athletic revenue.
Hosted over 20 community special events that had an estimated 50K attendees.
Over 4800 individuals visited Roy Savage pool.
31 summer pool rentals.
Seniors
Increased membership to over 1,600 members (during the rst month of the Senior Center being open we doubled the
membership total).
Opened the re-modeled Bedford Senior Activity Center in December 2024.
Hosted over 30 special events this year.
We offer 30-35 weekly classes to include group exercise, arts and crafts, card games and technology-based classes.
Hosted 23 senior dances at the Bedford Center YMCA.
On track to increase revenue by 50% in this scal year.
Cultural Arts
Hosted the Mosaic Mural Community Art project.
Increased programming and art education with new events and activities.
Adding more Concerts in the park at the request of the community.
Facilities Maintenance
The remodeling of the Public Works facility began by painting the facility and replacing the rst oor ceiling and lights.
Moved two HVAC units from City Hall Building B to Building A to replace aged ones.
The remodel of the City Hall Building C of ce area for Finance and Human Resources to expand of ce space.
The remodel of Fire Station #3.
The remodel of the Public Works Fleet Service bathrooms.
The demolition of City Hall Building B.
A new security system was installed in City Hall Building A and the Parks & Recreation building.
Replaced eight (8) HVAC units at the Library.
Replaced the roof of the Facilities Maintenance building.
Replaced the wood fencing around the Facilities Maintenance building.
Painted the Facilities Maintenance building.
Replaced the fence at the Law Enforcement Center.
The remodel of the Law Enforcement Center locker rooms.
