Summary:
The City has set a target of having no more than 15% of its Percentage of Fleet Beyond Life
fleet operating beyond recommended service life at any (Goal is 20% or less)
one time. Vehicles and equipment that are beyond 30%
recommended service life may have more down time and
may have less functionality compared to what is currently 25%
available on the market. After the service life ends,
maintenance and repair are at an extra cost. The City pays 20%
an extra, hourly rate for mechanical failures and wear and
tear which increase with vehicle age.

The bulk of new vehicle purchases for FY 2025 has been
completed. New vehicles are arriving, and once the vehicles
currently delivered are deployed the percentage reduces to 5%
