                           GOALS, OBJECTIVES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES

            ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
            SALES TAX REVENUES:  Sales Tax Revenues have continued to increase year after year. The City of Saginaw municipal year is based
            on October through the following September. Fiscal Year 2023-24 Total Revenues = $4,294,331 – through March 2024 (8.3% increase
            AND $329,029.24 more revenue than the same 6 months last fiscal year). Last Fiscal Year's Sales Tax Revenues were 10.19% higher
            ($791,039.59) more than the previous year.
            NEW BUSINESSES:  Successfully recruited and confirmed coming to Saginaw: Seven Brew Coffee, Foodliner, Miller Milling (expansion),
            Bag O'Crab, Tim Hortons Coffee and Cafe, Firehouse Subs, Atheneum Cider, Cava, Five Guy’s Burgers, Feng Cha Tea House, Taco
            Bueno, Papa Johns Pizza, Indian/Nepalese Restaurant, Prestonwood Landscape Services, Anchor Fabrication (expansion), Los Alberto's
            Mexican Food, etc.
            BUSINESS RECRUITMENT CONFERENCES
             Staff attended the Retail Live Conference in Austin talking with investors, developers and real estate professionals.
             Staff attended the ICSC Red River Conference in Dallas talking with investors, developers and real estate professionals.
            SCENES FROM THE ROADS LESS TRAVELED (BUSINESS RECOGNITION):  Economic Development Department staff has created a
            new feature recognizing businesses in our "Light Industrial" and "Heavy Industrial" Zoning Districts
             OTHER:
             Worked with the owners of 1005 N. Saginaw Blvd to redevelop the property that houses a dilapidated building and demolish it and
             building a center with four sales-tax and property tax producing businesses.
             Staff hand-delivered 44 Certificates of Occupancy through March 2024 to build relationships with our business community.
             Continued partnership with Community Link as contracted administrator for the Saginaw Farmers Market
             Continued promotion of the program “Shop Local. Shop Saginaw” encouraging our residents to shop locally.
             Taught two classes to the Leadership Northwest Group on “Economic Development” and “Leadership, Management and Ethics”.
             Staff attended 19 webinars through March 2024 and professional development training sessions.
             Department staff managed the Saginaw Switchyard Food Truck Park
             Worked with Saginaw Kiwanis Club to produce the Annual Veterans Day Celebration and 1st Annual Vintage Car Show
             Staff updated and promoted the 2016 Economic Development Strategic Plan and SWOT Analysis.
             Celebrated the opening of The Edition (Phase 2) Assisted Living and Memory Care.
             Celebrated 6 Ribbon Cuttings/Grand Openings of Saginaw businesses.
             Elected to the Board of Directors of the North Tarrant Chamber of Commerce.
