Goals

Revitalization
Maintain thoroughfares and local streets through the ve-year street plan.
Repair sidewalks and ramps as requested and install new sidewalks to ll in gaps city-wide where deemed necessary.
Maintain and assess the water and wastewater systems to ensure adequate capacity for future expansion.
Transformation
Continue repair and maintenance of all City maintained signs, signal lights, pedestrian crossing, and school zone warning
systems.
Continue maintenance of the street infrastructure including sidewalks, ramps, curbs, and gutters.
Address aging water and sanitary sewer infrastructure and upgrade utilities, as needed.
Armor and protect existing public storm drains to prevent real or personal property damage.
Organizational Excellence
Provide an outstanding work environment that supports employees and allows them to further their careers in the city.
Submit all required annual reporting in order to remain in compliance with regulatory authorities.
Manage the Department's scal resources responsibly within the allocated budget.
Continue to provide quality water and service to the citizens and businesses of Bedford.
Continue to inspect, assess, and maintain the sanitary sewer and drainage collection systems.
Prioritize areas for future rehabilitation projects in conjunction with street, water, sanitary sewer, and drainage
rehabilitation projects.
Continue routine maintenance and repair of drainage channels and the storm sewer system.
Remain in compliance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Stormwater Management Plan.
Remain in compliance with State and Federal regulations for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Communicate & Engage with Citizens
Continue public education and awareness of Public Work programs.
Provide educational information and any assistance to all residents on how to use the EyeOnWater app or website.
Educate the residents on watering restrictions and conservation methods.
Respond to all inquiries and concerns, handling calls and emails in an ef cient and timely manner.
Communicate projects and activities through Social Media Communication.
Respond to customer requests and resolve them in an effective manner.
Continue educating local businesses, apartment complexes, and residents about the Fats, Oils and Grease Program.
