Water and Sewer Capital Projects Fund Descriptions
1. Walnut Creek Lift Station Upgrade
This project consists of the upgrade of the existing Walnut Creek Lift Station. The existing lift station
is near capacity. The upgrade will allow for future development in the area.
Cost: $900,000
Funding Source: Excess Bond Reserve Funds
Sewer Impact Fees
Operating Budget Impact: No direct financial impact on the operating budget is expected as a
result of this project. No additional staff will be required as a third-party
contractor will be hired to perform the labor. Current staff members will
be involved with the project and they must dedicate time to oversee the
project which does take staff time away from routine duties creating an
indirect impact on the operating budget.

2. Walnut Creek Force Main Upgrade
This project consists of the upgrade of the existing sewer force main from the Walnut Creek Lift
Station to the Ash Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. This project will be performed in conjunction
with the Walnut Creek Lift Station Upgrade project and will allow for future development in the area.
Cost: $1,500,000
Funding Source: Utility Fund Transfer

3. Avondale Lift Station Upgrade CDBG Project
This project consists of the upgrade of an existing lift station in the Avondale Avenue area. The
existing lift station is near capacity. The upgrade will allow for future development in the area to
connect to the City’s wastewater system. The project was proposed and approved to be included in
the Tarrant County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and will be partially
funded by the grant.
Cost: $50,000 (City’s portion)
