PURPOSE STATEMENT:
The City of Azle Parks and Recreation department strives to provide and maintain adequate parks and recreation
facilities with a safe and pleasant environment. The department is responsible for the maintenance of community
buildings, recreation programs, and park grounds.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:
To continue the recreation programs being offered to the community.
To continue improving special events program.
To continue improving the amenities in the city parks to provide a better place for families to enjoy and relax.
KEY POINTS OF PROPOSED BUDGET:
Personnel: Increase due to impact of FY 24 step increases, pay plan market adjustment, and increased
benefits costs.
Services: Additional funding requested for Music in the Park, Senior Citizen's Program, and umpires for
the adult softball league.
Increase requested for contract splashpad UV disinfection system maintenance.
Increase requested to outsource mowing of The FeedLot Food Truck Park.
Capital: Increase requested for the purchase of a new infield groomer for the City's softball fields.
Increase requested to purchase sprayer/spreader rig.
Increase requested to purchase a new zero-turn mower.
Increase requested to hire a contractor to renovate Shady Grove Ballfield #1
Increase requested to upgrade the lighting at Shady Grove Ballfield #1
