               FUTURE INITIATIVES

                   ➢  Continue  annual  evaluation  of  the  city’s  retiree  health  care  plans  and  update  plan
                       features to contain costs
                   ➢  Continue funding public transportation programs
                   ➢  Continue citizen programs (Hurst 101, Youth-in-Government)
                   ➢  Maintain agreement with Boyle & Lowry, LLP to ensure the City continues to receive
                       professional and cost-effective legal representation
                   ➢  Continue citizen educational programs
                   ➢  Continue employee development through training opportunities

               Goals:
                   •  Focus  on  maintaining  and  improving  city  services  and  document  and  communicate
                       achievements in the budget
                   •  Be proactive in risk detection and reduction
                   •  Be proactive in meeting cultural, educational, recreational, and historical needs
                   •  Continue to attract, retain, and develop staff throughout the organization to establish a
                       qualified talent pool for future movement within the organization

               Objectives:

                   •  Continue offering three transportation programs: TRE, HEB Transit, and NETS
                   •  Analyze  retiree  health  care  coverage  and  make  plan  adjustments,  if  necessary,  to
                       continue providing a cost-effective benefit to eligible retirees
                   •  Provide updated information to the Texas Municipal League to ensure sufficient property
                       and liability insurance is maintained
                   •  Renew contracts with Tarrant Appraisal District and Tarrant County for the valuation of
                       property and assessment and collection of property tax revenue
                   •  Fully fund the City’s Actuarially Determined Contribution for retiree benefits
                   •  Maintain agreement with Boyle & Lowery, LLP to ensure the City continues to receive
                       professional and cost-effective legal representation
                   •  Continue citizen educational programs
