Goal 3: Promote and Support Safety and Security within Our Community while providing Quality Services
Strategic Goals Outcome:
Response Time Compliant to NFPA 1710 for Fire Response time
Provide Proactive Enforcement Activities Added courses for response to active shooting
& Programs
Community Health Officer Position Providing community well being for seniors, disabled, veterans, and
mental health needs
Increase School Safety Worked with BISD to increase School Resource Officer positions by 2
additional SRO's
Goal 4: Practice Fiscal Responsibility while Utilizing Performance Measures
Strategic Goals Outcome:
Shared Services Continue to partner with surrounding communities for savings on shared
services
Increased Revenues Create short‐term rental ordinance and requirements to collect Hotel
Occupancy Taxes
Emergency Management Specialist Will assist in Grant funding efforts and opportunities
Create Shared Calendar Create one calendar for all city and organized events
Goal 5: Build and Maintain Partnerships with Non‐Profit Sector to Advance the Revitalization and Beautification
of the City
Strategic Goals Outcome:
The Mended Network Mended Network has completed 9 projects within the City and is
continuing to accept and approve new applications
Serving Our Seniors (SOS)
Assisted with seniors with lawn care, fence repair, and home repairs
Goal 6: Address Critical Facility & Infrastructure Needs
Strategic Goals Outcome:
Law Enforcement Center Construction started in Summer of 2022 and expected completion is
2024
Senior Center The Senior Center remodel was completed in 2022 and continues to
grow in attendance
City Hall New facility approved by voters in May 2022 with expected completion
in 2024
North Park
The City received a matching grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife
Department and is working on conceptual design and construction plans
Street Repairs Certificates of Obligation were issued for continue street project
improvements
Water & Sewer Rate Study NewGen Strategies completed a rate restructure that was adopted by
City Council last budget year. Further studies continued and the tiered‐
rate structure was billed in October of 2022.
